Mindfulness Myth #1 – I Don’t have Enough Time.

Categories :Health , Women Issues

I am an extremely busy person. I have customers to train, I need to do my own regular training, sometimes I have additional special training, I take care of a dog, I work tirelessly to develop Move with Janine, to come up with new programs and exercises for my followers, … there is a ton of stuff to do every day. Some days I start at 6 am and finish at 11 pm.

The thought of finding more time to fit Mindfulness into my life is very stressful.

Truthfully, even though I was short of time, I didn’t really know how much time is required.

So, wow much time do you need for Mindfulness?
From 5 minutes to many hours. Most of the times that I meditate are between 5 and 20 minutes. I have never meditated for longer than 20 minutes although one day I might.

What can you do in 5 minutes?

  • Take a metal nap.
  • The transition between two different activities.
  • Calm down.
  • Clear my head.

What can you do in 20 minutes?
When you have enough practice, you will find that 20 minutes of Mindfulness can feel like a 3-week holiday break.
Why should I make the time?
If you are too stressed for Mindfulness like I was then you need Mindfulness more than most. Meditation calms me down and gives me focus – that is powerful stress-busting.
Plus there are lots of other reasons – can use it to fall asleep when your mind is too busy, for example.
Stress is waging a war to take control of your life. Fight back and win. Exercise and Mindfulness coupled are probably the most effective weapon you will ever find to reduce the harm of stress. So get this mindfulness by joining movewithjanine and help yourself in winning the war.
